Physical Resilience Training Philosophy

Updated: Jun 4, 2020

There's a lot that goes into training and building it into a business. Below are just some of the many philosophical thoughts that drive PRT's decisions and what we stand for. We hope you enjoy it and come out on the other side with some insight into who we are.

Fitness Solutions Built from the Ground Up:

We build our fitness programming for clients from the ground up. The method we deploy concurrently trains multiple fitness attributes, is completely original, and has continued to evolve and improve over the years.

Measuring Progress: Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Gym numbers mean nothing. It can be one of many markers for progress but if your squat increases by 100 pounds and now your back hurts, what exactly are we trying to accomplish? Remove the ego, because health comes first. Fitness levels largely determine your health in many ways that are impossible to ignore. Fitness solutions require a combination of the right ingredients. These ingredients will always change because we are a bit more complex than cookies and cakes. PRT begins with the raw fitness demands of the initial goal, injury history, and builds a program which directly prepares the client for those demands.

The Method: The Iceberg

Every structure has a foundation as a base of support and the same goes with you. Extensive research, experience, trial and error, and paying attention to the person in front of you is how PRT builds upon your base. Issues with modalities, exercises and progressions during training sessions are identified and fixed as we work through the training plan. We assess the programming’s effectiveness and efficiency, keep the stuff that works, and fix or toss the stuff that doesn’t. Feedback and results are assessed. We take what we learn from clients, re-visit, update and improve.

Field Driven: Programming in the Trenches

Our stuff works. Over years as trainers, PRT’s coaches have partnered with hundreds of clients and provided fitness solutions as they face new life obstacles, goals, or injuries. Weekly we receive unsolicited reviews of our programming and testimonials to its effectiveness.

Our Mission Goes Beyond Fitness:

Besides wanting to improve the health and fitness levels for clients, we want to keep them safe. This focus on solutions, enhancements, and improvements drives our work. Fitness is just one area and we take pride in defining what it means to be an integrity-based company that has had lasting influence on and driven healthy conversations with both fitness, therapy, and medical professionals.

Honest & Clear Answers:

We are not salesmen, and our answers are noted for their directness, honesty, and clarity. Our stuff isn’t for everyone. If we can help, we’ll let you know. If we can’t, we will refer you to the appropriate professional.

This is definitely a post I'll be archiving for future reference. A huge shout out for keeping the content so honest and genuinely useful; it's refreshing to see. My own journey with building physical resilience started out quite similarly to how you described, with a lot of trial and error. It's fascinating to consider physical resilience from a different angle though. For instance, I've found that incorporating elements of mindfulness and active recovery, not just pushing harder, has been a game-changer for me personally https://www.accc.gov.au/system/files/social-media-influencer-testimonials.pdf This is precisely how the topic of physical resilience should be discussed, in my opinion. What really stands out too is the practical advice woven throughout. It makes complex ideas feel so accessible. What specifically…

This is such a thought-provoking piece on physical resilience, and I'm really glad I stumbled upon it. It resonates deeply with my own experiences and the conclusions I've been drawing lately. I particularly appreciate how you've highlighted the team dynamics involved; that's an aspect I hadn't fully considered before, but it makes perfect sense. It’s not just about individual fortitude, is it https://www.abc.net.au/news/ I've seen firsthand how a supportive team can elevate performance when things get tough. Thinking about where physical resilience is heading in the near future, I imagine we'll see even more integrated approaches that consider mental and emotional aspects alongside the physical. This write-up has definitely given me a lot to ponder as I continue developing my…
